AH YEAH! Cabs here, T-shirt time!

I've honestly seen the show maybe 1.5 times... and not a full episodes, just small bits here and there. But if you don't know what I'm referring to. I'm talking about "Jersey Shore". The newest season has set the record for the most viewed cable TV Season Premiere in history. (And for being in standard definition, that's not bad at all.) We had a PACKED house this last weekend when we had DJ Pauly D doing a guest DJ set at Silk the Club. The wait to get in was wrapping down the stair case, and out into the casino Valet. VIP was sold out, and the guest list was passing the 5000 person marker. The Venue alone only holds 1600! With huge crowds in the club, the security was holding the crowd control guard up to keep the fans from rushing the stage. I was able to squeeze by the mayhem and was able to grab a few shots before the night was done.

Here is one of the shots that I was most stoked about. Enjoy!

Week 16/52 Adventures of Sackboy

I took a LOOOOOONGGG Vacation from working on this project for a couple of reasons. One mainly being that the holidays really kept me from shooting from what I wanted to shoot, and two, I finished the photo class, and was a little burnt out on shooting.
But now to continue shooting I started this little series called, "The Adventures of Sackboy". A fun little series that will bring you through the eye level of the character of Little Big Planet, and bring him into our world. So here he is, and here is his first story:

Came to work, and I found this little guy tangled up in cables all alone. So I decided to take him in and take care of him.

Week 15/52

Another school Project photo! yayy. haha. The challenge this time was "Food". I shot the seafood grotto before, and had amazing results. So I asked the chef if I could shoot him one more time. This time I used "cool" LED lights. Its a panel of LED's that are a continuous light. Really efficient in the video realm, and somewhat for photography. I just had to bump up the ISO a bit, just so I can shoot at a high shutter, and have a fast aperture. I had to make a collage just to get a feel of the whole deal.

Week 14/52

Ok ok ok... I have to admit, not my best photo I have taken on these series of photos, but I needed a shot, and I was pressed for a photo for my photo class. The challenge was 1am. I had an idea to shoot the pond in Temecula, but on my way off of work, I realized that I had no tripod. And to top it off, Lauren was waiting there for me, and was gonna surprise me with some food, and Starbucks :( Thanks to no tripod, there was no surprise. But I did end up having a better idea. I meet up with Lauren at home, picked up my tripod, and had her drive, and I sat in the back seat, set my camera up on the tripod, and picked up some trail lights. The photo is composed of two images, the lights on the streets, then a longer exposure to pick up the lights in the cabin.

Week 13/52

Week 13 was definitely hard to choose from. Pechanga held its first "official" MMA fight. (I say official because every weekend when silk gets out, there seems to be a brawl going on. haha)
There were a lot of good fights. Decided on this one just becuase of 1. He's my buddies Nick's coach, and 2. It really shows how the sport is. Not just boxing toe to toe, but also expands the fight to the ground, where you can throw in wrestling, and Jiu Jitsu. All in all a pretty good night.

Shot cage side at a ridiculously high ISO.

Week 12/52

Week 12 was another shoot in the school studio. My buddy Matt needed some new head shots to send to a modeling agency, and I need some shots for my school project. He had a few wardrobe changes, but this is one I enjoyed the most.

Fill light 3/4 lighting on camera right, and then kicker/rim lighting camera left. Shot on a gray background.

SLACKKING!!! Week 11/52

Sorry I havent posted on this blog in a while. (really doubt anyone is reading it tho. haha. :p ) But time to play some catch-up.

Week 11 was shot in the school studio. I saw an ad in Transworld Snowboard, and I really liked the catch lights. I put 3 slim soft boxes together and formed them into a triangle to get the effect. Turned out pretty cool. Now only if I can really get some of my own lights I could do this outside of school :\. Oh well...

The additional shot is from another angel to see how it was set up.
